In a comment to the previous posting, I was asked to explain the four pylons in the Kansas City skyline. The Wikipedia article starts, "The Bartle Hall Pylons are four concrete, steel columnar structures built to support steel cables that suspend Bartle Hall Convention Center above Truman Road and Interstate 670 in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. They are approximately 335 feet (102 m) high and are topped by four sculptures that make up the city's skyline."
From the Kansas City Convention Center website, I downloaded the above photo of the pylons and the following map of downtown Kansas City showing the bridging of the Interstate by Bartle Hall.
The Zahner Engineering website provides several views of the pylons and the Sky Stations atop them. Below is a daylight photo of the pylons from that website.
In the above photo, note that, nearly in alignment with the pylons is the Power and Light building that I mentioned in the previous posting. When I lived in Kansas City, the top of the building was lit at night, with colors morphing through the hues of the rainbow. These days, the lighting is LED and uses more intense colors. A few of the colors are shown in the mosaic photo, below, from Flickr.
