Good for you, growing your own Monarchs :). I haven't seen any Monarchs so far, nor any of their caterpillars. This has been an odd year bug-wise anyway, so I'm not reading anything into it.

Bogie--Thank you. Sorry about your complete lack of Monarchs. We've not seen many; but, obviously enough. Those little plants probably wouldn't support more than the three caterpillars.

Speaking of bugs. Our grass got decimated (or worse) by army worms during the past week or so. I thought that the brown patches that I saw early-on were the usual summer die-off of our cool season grass - and I was distracted by all else that was requiring my attention - so I was surprised to see the mud quagmire that was developing in the 20-foot strip of grass nearest the house outside your dad's bedroom window a couple of days ago. When there is no grass to suck it up, there is nowhere for the water from the sprinkler system to go. I felt so stoooopid. Thinking over our next move.
