I have great admiration for anyone who sews let alone quilts!

Liz--It isn't for everyone, that's for sure. My father and Elder Brother, although they did/have done little sewing, were/is better at sewing than am I. My father made a velvet dress for my mother (who did little sewing) shortly after they were married and my brother made himself a pair of running shorts shortly after his wife (Expert Seamstress) died and both looked very professionally made! I started learning to sew from my dad's mother, before I was old enough to start school, and never enjoyed it - still don't - but I like the products, even if they don't usually look professionally made. Other than quilts and pillowcases for loved ones, most of my sewing within the past 40 years has been making alterations to store-bought clothing - tailoring for size or adding pockets and such.

I like the look of the free-hand embroidery. It is definitely a more personal marking, so no apologies or excuses needed.

Bogie--How sweet you are!
