The pyrocantha puts on such pretty berries (ha, spellcheck want pyrocantha to be pyromaniac :D). The thorns aren't so nice when you find them by mistake while pulling weeds. I thought about planting some here, but figured as strong-growing as they were at my last place, I would lose control of them. And I don't have enough land to allow that to happen.

Blueish or not, the roses are still pretty.

I can't even grow melons on purpose, and you can get them by mistake/fortune. Shows what a pathetic gardener I am :)

Bogie--I planted bittersweet when we first moved in; but, I hadn't realized that Kevin's folks would plant Chinese instead of American. I had to rip them out before they took over the world.

Unfortunately, the melons won't get ripe before the weather overtakes them. The vines are mostly withered, now. I'll try pickling the flesh of the cantaloupes - maybe the rind of the watermelon.

So disappointing that the pretty melon didn't pan out.
