I've been told that, without a "no eclipse" shadow photo for comparison, one can't interpret the degree of eclipse shown in the tree shadows of the previous posting. Here are the comparisons (had to wait an extra day to get some sun to shine at the appropriate hour).
Before anyone asks: Yes, each concrete surface is in focus in each photo. Small gaps among leaves act as "pin-hole cameras" projecting lune shapes that show the degree of coverage of the solar disk by the moon.
Those comparison pictures really make an impact.
Sorry you have been ill - hope you are feeling better!

Off topic: What news about Red Cross operations in Houston? What is the most effective aid? Money?

Bogie--Thank you, I am feeling well, now.
Marianna--Nation-wide, we've had requests to send thousands of volunteers to Texas. Money is absolutely the most useful donation. It is always useful and can be used in ways that not only help the affected people but also support the local merchants.

Will send money then. Four Red Cross volunteers from Hawaii on their way. What an awful disaster!

Hattie--My first thought to your original comment was, "Wow! What a woman - thinking of others when she has so much on her plate." You are wonderful!
Volunteers will be going to Texas for the foreseeable future - as in, months and months.
