The cliche of the one-room schoolhouse didn't do much for me, but certainly this is a story of a life well lived.

Back in the day, younger siblings' following elder siblings to school was not uncommon. I, myself, followed my elder brother to school (2 rooms + auditorium that housed 1st through 10th grades) on occasion. The only problem was that Miss Todd thought me, aged 4, too young to be pushing the merry-go-round so, if she was on the playground, I had to be a rider only.
