You're in tornado alley, aren't you? I experienced a near miss from a tornado in Wisconsin and will never forget that!

Yes, Hattie, most of my life has been spent in tornado alley. I'm posting a series on the most recent "near" miss - a tornado that passed about 4 or 5 miles from our home - at Volunteer Endeavors. Twenty-three years ago, a killer tornado passed within about 3 miles of our then-home. The 1991 tornado killed at least 20 people and struck along nearly the same path as the 4/14/2012 tornado (which killed no one - mostly due to much advance warning); but, our house of that day was about 1.5 miles closer to the tornado path.
In the past, tornadoes have approached to within 3 or 4 miles of my family's/my houses in Tulsa OK, Kansas City MO, and Albuquerque (first reported tornadoes - there were two - in Albuquerque!)
