I didn't know about this goop stuff. What a great idea.
Our biggest problem here is that tools rust out so fast. But there are some nice tools that belonged to my mother in law that it might be worthwhile to give the goop treatment to. We're getting to the point where a tool set down is a lost tool!

Hattie--I had known about the stuff for years, having seen it advertised in tool catalogues. It always seemed a bit expensive in prior years. Now that it is a means of saving tools from the compost heap, the $8 (as I recall) seems well spent!

I don't think I've ever actually lost tools by throwing them away. I only lose stuff like my wedding ring while shoveling snow and dumping raked up leaves (both times hands got cold and wet; fingers shrank, ring didn't shrink, you do the math). Found the ring once, about 2 months after I lost it in the snow. Didn't find the ring the second time (it's been lost about 10 years now).

Replacement didn't cost much; although WS said it is the only replacement I will get so I have to hang onto this one. The gold would net me a small fortune in today's prices should I find it.
