In a previous posting, I noted that the Eastern Bluebird couple had set up housekeeping in our nesting box and that the female had laid two eggs. The count is now up to four eggs. Before the fourth egg was deposited, I snapped the photo, below.
Today, Wonderful GrandDaughter and Chew brought Next Generation 1 down to see us. It just does not get any better than this! (The flannel shirt is on Hunky Husband while the dark pants are attached to WGD.)
Note to Darlene and any other readers who were worried about the wind's blowing the House Finch nest off of the wind chimes: Despite the winds that have kept the chimes clanging for the past four days, sometimes gusting into the high 60s mph range, the nest has remained firm. It still lists badly, but Mama Finch has dutifully sat upon the nest through the tempest. At least the nest has been protected from the hail and rain by the upper facade of the porch front.
What beautiful blue eggs. And what a beautiful grandchild.
I am glad mama Finch still has a nest.

What a cutie...and so sweet. Yep, it just doesn't get better than that CC.
Glad to hear Mama Finch's nest is still in tact.

The nest is simply beautiful and so is your grandson!

All--I agree that the bird nests are beautiful and even-more-so that our great-grandson is! We are anxiously awaiting arrival of #2 great-grandson, Next Generation 2. (WGD is even more anxiously awaiting!)

Those eggs are such a true blue.
Your grandson is very cute, and what a mature expression he has. Must be a very bright one.

Hattie--Thanks for coming by. Although I didn't see the eggs, I really doubt that their color is quite so intense; but, they are a beautiful color, intense or not. It will be a few years before we know how bright NG1 is; but, if he gets anything at all from his dad and mom, he'll do alright.
BTW: I was thinking of you while doing yard work, yesterday - imagining you swinging a machete at your jungle.
