The crepe myrtles are in bloom, so thought that I would share a photo of ours. There are actually three bushes in this photo, but they are neatly aligned (and I cropped the photo) so one really only sees the smallest of the three--the one in the foreground.
Finally, I've finished sewing the rows of Hunky Husband's Afghan quilt and have been playing about with different arrangements of the rows. I am pondering not using the "fill-in" row that I had assembled from leftover odds and ends. It looks like leftover odds and ends (I needed to make the quilt 4-6 inches longer for HH--not a short fellow.) Now I am pondering making another fill-in row that is just two rows of 1/2-square triangle blocks in two fabrics, laid out to make slanted diamonds (such as I had done to fill in the needed height on the Ohio star block). Or, I could add a 2" border (I had planned to just bind this quilt), accepting that the quilt gets wider as well as getting longer. Hmmmm. This photo at least shows what the rows look like. I'm not sure which should be top or bottom, let alone in which order the rows should be arranged.
Ooh, that crepe myrtle is beautiful and the quilt is looking good too!

Thanks, Sweetie. Your Grandma Hall always had crepe myrtle near the brick chimney (east side of house--between house and driveway) on 70th Street. She loved them, so, and had such a hard time getting them to thrive that she fretted a lot.

That crape myrtle looks lovely. I must admit that I hadn't heard of it but on Googling it I discovered that it is grown all over the world including the UK so the gnorance is mine.
