Yesterday, some of my friends missed the most amazing Google Doodle that I've ever seen. Here, through the magic of YouTube are two videos of the doodle. I don't know if the sound track has been added; but, there was no sound to the doodle that I was watching, yesterday. Note, too, that, in the upper video, the whole doodle is not displayed in the video - only the PDA and its surrounds. Enjoy!

Thanks for putting that up, CC, because I HAD missed it. You have saved me from having to read Vogon poetry as self-punishment ;-)
Incidentally, this is yet another case of cartoonists getting it wrong. They have the Earth rotating in the wrong direction :-( Are they not taught the sun rises in the east and sets in the west??? [this is Marvin speaking]...

Stu--Anything to save you from reading Vogon poetry! BTW: I figured that the cartoonists were observing an alternate universe. I was surprised to see that they had not flipped the poles. Bye-bye, Marvin.

There is sound.

Hattie--Thanks for pointing out that I wrote the message poorly. I know that sound is there on the videos, but I did not hear sound when observing the doodle while it was active on the Google search page.

I don't always pay attention to Google's doodles but that one had caught my attention. Good of you to repeat it here.

Why is it that I am so surprised you know about the Hitchhiker's Guide!? *G*

Joared--I probably see more of the Google Doodles than most because I have so much ignorance that I use the search engine a lot!
Buffy--As I recall, it was Bogie who turned me on to (the now, late)Adams and his work - I'm thinking it was about 20-25 years ago. I find his work delightful!
